    A great, safe indoor playground for children of different ages (lovely on a rainy day), with a nice-atmosphere restaurant serving good-value fries and friendly welcoming staff, register your plate for 5 hours' free parking; ~3km south

    Gets crowded nowadays; café food is basic and a bit pricey; some rides need extra tokens

    A big indoor activity park with trampolines, running, jumping and lots to do, great fun for kids from toddlers to teenagers, with a seating area for parents who don't want to join in; ~3km south

    Layout can feel messy/inefficient and popular activities get reserved out at busy times; a bit pricey; closed Mondays; afternoon-only on weekdays

    A beautiful central park with a large playground, lots of swings and things to do, a lovely garden of flowers (indoor and outdoor), an ice-cream kiosk and a café, a free barbecue area and a nice lake view, a favourite for families of any age; ~1km northeast

    A good central skatepark with small and large obstacles (good for a younger child on a scooter), an outdoor gym, a pump track, a children's playground, a lake and a walking path alongside; ~1km south

    Gets busy; the kiosk isn't always open

  2. Hovinsuon SkeittipuistoSkate / BMX / roller

    One of the best skateparks around, with great obstacles from pools to rails, separate scales of ramps and big nice graffiti adding to the atmosphere, changing rooms and a restaurant nearby, in good condition; ~5km east

    Few very small ramps for total beginners; outdoor

  3. Oulu Climbing CenterClimbing

    A great, spacious climbing centre with very high ceilings, lots of bouldering routes for novices and experienced climbers, auto-belays and main belay walls, two halls (in different buildings) for the same price, a communal chalk system, changing rooms with showers and a sauna, helpful staff, kids have a great time and learn a lot; ~2km northwest

    A warmly loved circus association offering circus lessons for all ages — acrobatics, juggling, illusion, clowning and more — a great place for kids and adults alike; ~5km east

    A magical, beautifully thought-out place with a petting zoo of well-cared-for, tame animals and a fairytale-forest story pony-ride adventure for young kids and adults (bookable in English for groups), plus a cafe with hamburgers and waffles and an ice-cream kiosk, one of the best family activities in the Oulu area; ~20km north

  2. Linnunradan TilaPetting farm

    A lovely alpaca farm near Oulu with very friendly owners who share a lot about the animals — you can feed the alpacas and walk them in the nearby forest — plus a campfire site, a cozy café with tasty pastries and a shop of local products, a great family visit; ~15km southeast
