Kindering is a map of kid-friendly places. This policy describes exactly what the app does with data. It is short because the app collects none.
No account, nothing collected
Kindering has no accounts and no sign-in. The app sends nothing about you to us, and we run no server that receives data from it.
What stays on your device
Everything the app remembers is kept on your device, and never sent to us:
- the places you star as "favourite" or "been here";
- the city you last opened, and your favourite city;
- the places shown in the Home Screen widget and in Spotlight search;
- the cities and places copied to your paired Apple Watch so it can show them.
Deleting the app removes all of it.
Your location
Location is used only while the app is open, and only to centre the map on you and sort places by distance. It is processed on your device and is never transmitted to us or stored anywhere. Declining the permission leaves the app fully usable.
What we never do
- No advertising, and no data sold or shared with data brokers.
- No tracking across other apps or websites, and no advertising identifier.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
Third parties
The map itself is Google Maps. Displaying it means your device requests map tiles and imagery directly from Google, which, like any internet request, includes your device's IP address. That is governed by Google's privacy policy. Kindering adds nothing about you to those requests.
Tapping for directions hands the place over to Google Maps (Apple Maps on Apple Watch). From there, that app's privacy policy applies.
If you email us
Writing to support means we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to answer you, and keep it only as long as that takes. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Your rights
The app holds nothing about you on our side, so there is nothing there to export or delete. For anything you have emailed us, you can ask us to show, correct or delete it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Kindering is written for parents and carers. It is not directed at children, and it collects no information about them.
Changes
Material changes bump the version above.
