    A very clean, well-laid-out soft-play in the Waterfront shopping centre where you can see your child from your seat, lovely welcoming helpful staff, all-day entry (not just 2 hours), reasonable prices, perfect while shopping; ~4km northwest

    More for younger children (older ones welcome); mixed-gender restroom

    Superb, spacious bouldering gym with a wide variety of problems from balancy slab to overhung slopers, very clean and well-maintained, friendly English-speaking staff and a good-value day pass, welcoming for beginners; ~3km northwest

    Gets extremely busy at peak times; no bare feet on the mats; ~12.50€ with your own shoes

    A great skate/BMX spot for kids and teenagers with good ramps and the handy option to rent scooters, skateboards and helmets on site, friendly welcoming people; ~5km south

    The playground/football areas are a bit worn; open Tue-Sun afternoons only

    Huge trampoline park at the Waterfront with several activity areas, well-organised birthday parties, a good place to spend time when you're at the shopping centre; ~4km northwest

    Wonderful circus school in the middle of Huckelriede — a lovely place to explore the circus world where children and young people learn acrobatics and circus skills (and get away from their phones), warm supportive team, family open afternoons with cake and drinks; ~3km south

    Community-run bouldering gym near the old goods station with incredibly creative, fun routes across all difficulties, a good vibe, shoe and chalk rental, a café, and a great choice for kids' birthday parties

    A big, well-regarded free skatepark in the Überseepark with lots to do, plus a large kids' area, a soccer field, a basketball court, green areas and a little kiosk, great for children and adults; ~3km northwest

    The flatground is a bit sharp and it lacks a proper rail; packed with kids at weekends

    The best place in Bremen for rope climbing (an Alpine-Association centre) with tall walls, many lead and top-rope routes plus a few auto-belays, a small boulder area, an outdoor wall for sunny days, courses from beginner up, rental gear, good café and viewing seats; ~6km northeast

    Most routes need two people (belayer + climber) so it's tricky solo; can feel unwelcoming if you arrive alone
