    A central indoor activity venue with bowling, darts, mini-golf and board games plus several relaxed bar areas, good fun and lively, well suited to a rainy Bergen day with older kids and families

    Food is pricey and not the highlight; leans toward an evening/bar crowd later on

    A nice, beautiful climbing gym with two bouldering halls and a small gym, good frequent route-setting for all levels, friendly staff, a café and good music; ~3km west

    Air quality can get bad at peak times; parking now charged with poor bike parking; grades run a touch soft

  2. Fyllingsdalen SkateparkSkate / BMX / roller

    A good free outdoor skatepark with plenty of obstacles to build your skills and a half-pipe nearby, good concrete for skate, scooter and BMX, a great local spot for kids; ~5km southwest

    A little worn; no nearby car parking (shop at the Rema1000 next door)

    A free indoor activity house with a skatepark and parkour, a great offer for children and young people (adults welcome with a child); ~3km west

  4. Rush TrampolineparkTrampoline park

    A fun, energetic trampoline park for young and old with lots of trampolines and activities, birthday rooms overlooking the action, a café and snacks, and a wristband/clock system to track your time; ~10km south (Kokstad)

    ~160 NOK/hour plus ~30 NOK for grip socks; afternoon-only on weekdays

    A great climbing centre for everyone from age 3 to 100, with a nice bouldering area, auto-belay and lead climbing, well-set routes, a kids' play area and a cozy café with amazing coffee, welcoming atmosphere; ~10km south (Kokstad)

    A decent, safe indoor ice rink good for casual skating with kids, with beginner equipment available and a large shopping centre (Vestkanten) attached; ~7km west (Loddefjord)

    Gets crowded in the afternoons (go earlier); short weekday hours

    An outstanding, huge climbing hall (in Åsane Arena) with towering lead walls, plenty of top-rope routes, multiple auto-belays, a speed wall, a big bouldering area with every grade and a dedicated kids' area, plus a shop and coffee shop, clean, bright and welcoming; ~9km north

    Auto-belays require a belay licence; lighting is very bright in places

    A lovely central ceramics workshop running low-threshold, relaxed and laugh-filled courses where you make several pieces with good help and guidance from friendly hosts (Kine, Margot), explanations available in English, a great social evening

    An idyllic, quiet visitor farm almost in the heart of Bergen where kids can visit grazing horses, ponies, sheep, chickens and mini pigs and a farm dog, buy fresh eggs, and combine it with a family walk in the lovely Langeskogen hiking area, great open-farm events; ~5km south

    Farm animals are grazing/roaming (not always a fixed petting session); bring a packed lunch

    A charming family-run farm just outside Bergen offering a peaceful glimpse of Norwegian rural life, with cute goats, sheep, chickens and hardy horses, a picturesque setting, warm passionate staff, personal guided visits and horse-riding through the woods and lakes; ~7km northeast
